For the rebirth to life
since 1995 Skin to be reborn to life | Burn Foundation He has worked continuously to care for patients with burn sequelae.
Every day the number of patients who come to their doors is greater to request the support and care that the health system does not provide, not even to those who are covered. When they attend them, it is not made with opportunity or with quality, the appointments are spaced, without continuity, with different professionals and without a work plan designed for their particular case.
On the contrary, when a patient requests care at the Foundation, in less than two days he has assigned his appointment with plastic surgery, psychology and social work on the same day, based on the evaluation of each of the professionals, a treatment plan is established, if surgery requires surgery, laboratory tests are requested and surgery is scheduled At the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation with whom we have an agreement, many cannot avoid tears and with a smile they comment on the difference and the quality of care. They have ceased to be a number and now they feel human beings for whom someone cares.
Throughout this path, infinite links have been established with different organizations that allow consolidating an entire network that strengthens its actions. Food Bank, FUNSTAL that houses patients from outside of Bogotá, outcrops in training social organizations, doctors for peace whose motto is "Travel one, heals many", universities such as La Sabana, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, La Salle College, Jorge Tadeo Lozano, etc., who send his students for social practice.
“It is the only organization in the country that carries out different events to train health professionals in the care of the burned patient; it takes two or three courses of initial basic care of the ABIQ burn, which is aimed at all those involved at some point in the patient's care chain before admission to The burning unit, which allows it to arrive in better conditions since first aid has been provided, its hydration and pain management have begun, and the first healing has been carried out on its wound.”
